What hours should a photographer be opened?  

I really take my job as a photographer seriously.  My hours should be like everyone else 8-5pm, Monday - Friday.  Right?

But over time, I'm finding out I'm on call.  I'm not a doctor.  I have not worked in a hospital as a registered nurse for a long time. I'm a professional photographer. So why?

Client 1 

Two days before Christmas, when I have 25 people coming over Christmas Eve dinner, I get the call from a mom. Her son was able to come home for Christmas for the first time in 6 years.  Would I do a family portrait?  I dropped everything giving them extra time too.  I felt like I was giving back to someone that is serving our country. After the photo session, I found out as well she had breast cancer and faced aggressive treatment.  So glad I said yes!
