Happy New Year!

This year has started out with some happy memory making moments in December.

The year ended with a wonderful feeling of knowing I could touch a special family because I'm a photographer. A mom called the studio and shared her son was home for Christmas for the first time in 6 years. He's in the air force.

She did a brief web search, found Sonset Photography & Imagery and I reopened the studio immediately when I heard her story. I have had most of my family together through the years. I could not imagine 6 years without them.

As we continued with the portrait session, I learned she had some major obstacles in her personal life. We spent 4 hours together making memories with her adult kids instead of a 1 hour portrait session.

As we start the new year, look for the times when you can be a blessing to those around you. I guarantee I was blessed more by this lovely family than anything I could have done for them. They returned my focus helped me return to the focus of the real meaning of "Christmas" and being there for each other, not the extra cookies and such.

I can't wait for them to see their memory making portraits!
